I never was a fan of turmeric…or at least I didn’t think I was, because the flavor by itself isn’t the best. But with the right ingredients and flavor combos, it can actually taste pretty dang good! I’ve been trying to incorporate it into my daily diet since it’s known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties and a turmeric latte is one of the easiest ways to do it :).
Makes 1 serving
- 1 cup unsweetened nut milk
- 1 tsp. coconut palm sugar or 2 tsp. honey (or more, to taste)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. ghee
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1/8 tsp. cinnamon
- pinch of ginger
- optional: a pinch of cloves, cardamom, or black pepper
Top with coconut whipped cream
- Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan. Let simmer on the stovetop over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Make sure to stir, or the spices will settle on the bottom of the saucepan.
