Located in the heart of downtown LA, the historic Freehand Hotel is a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel that encompasses LA’s rich culture. The location is walking distance to local restaurants, bars, and shops, but don’t let that sway you from the magnificent dining & drinks inside the hotel. There’s a specialty coffee bar, Israeli restaurant, bar, fitness center, and rooftop pool that has an incredible view of the city. I truly loved everything about Freehand. The aesthetic encompasses all SoCal has to offer, from Western and vintage to lush greenery all over the place. In other words, it’s super “Instagramey”. The rooms are quaint, yet have everything you could possibly need. They have private rooms as well as beautiful hostels available, making it perfect for couples or groups. The price is also great and you truly get a lot for your money when staying here.
Freehand is social, social, social…but only if you want it to be! We started off with happy hour at Rudolph’s, located in the lobby of the hotel. The drinks are well crafted, and they offer a daily punch special that is a must try. If anything, it’s a great spot for pre-dinner drinks and chit-chat. The hotel’s restaurant, The Exchange, is absolutely incredible. I can’t speak enough on how great our experience was. HIGHLY recommend getting reservations here! The restaurant is inspired by Israeli cuisine and the multi-cultural flavors of LA. You get mouth-watering and vibrant food and a staff that is knowledgeable about everything they serve. They also do an amazing job accommodating to dietary preferences. So grab yourself a cocktail (I recommend the Kefir & Honey) and enjoy your stay at Freehand LA!
