Hotel Hive is a micro-hotel with super cute small rooms and lots of space to get social. They have a gorgeous rooftop terrace overlooking the hustle and bustle of the city and a lively pizzeria and bar located on the main floor. It’s in a prime location, right across the street from George Washington University and a 5-15 minute walk to a few of my favorite spots like Founding Farmers, Jrink, Sweetgreen, and the Lincoln Memorial. It’s also near shopping, the National Mall, public transit and Georgetown.
For DC, the prices of Hotel Hive are incredibly low! It’s not your typical American hotel stay with cereal and lukewarm eggs for breakfast, but if you’re anything like me…that’s not exactly what your looking for. Hotel Hive is unique and minimalist, yet provides all the basics such as Wi-Fi and TVs. We stayed in the Loft Queen, featuring high ceiling and exposed brick in a 150 square foot room. It was shaped like a beehive and windows surrounded the room. I think Jered’s favorite part was using the switch to raise and lower the blinds. We also had an incredibly beautiful view of the Lincoln Memorial. Some of the rooms at Hotel Hive feature bunk beds! It’s not necessarily a place to bring family or kids, unless you wanted to book a couple of rooms, but it’s a trendy place to stay for business, couples, or a girl’s weekend.
Note, this is a micro-hotel and everything in each room is pretty small. We don’t spend a ton of time in hotel rooms anyways, so it was perfect for us. It can get a little noisy too, but that kind of goes along with city life! We loved the atmosphere and our experience at Hotel Hive. From drinks to delicious pizza, we can’ wait to go back!
